FREUDSTEIN LIVE

Freudstein Live at The Hobgoblin, Brighton, circa 2004.

“Who are these guys? And how can they be so goddamn* cool *?….Like The Chemical Brothers had they taken ALL the wrong drugs….The synths are spine chilling and the beats are hard and nasty as a nine inch splinter through the eye….I couldn’t help but feel they needed warning signs on their equipment with “KEEP OUT! GENIUS AT WORK!” written on them.”
— The Rattler, Meltdown Magazine

LIVE

Freudstein have previously played live at Belgium's Eurorock festival, the Black Celebration festival at the Astoria LA2, Slimelight / Electrowerkz, Camden Underworld, The Garage, Brighton Fringe Festival, The Cowley Club, Hitchin’s Rhythms Of The World festival, The Freebutt, Amsterdam Willemeen Club, Brighton Komedia, Polar Central Bar, The Windmill, Club 85, and many more.

The band itself consisted of two core main members swapping vocal duties, playing live analogue synths and electric guitars, accompanied by a laptop. No one gig was ever the same, with their performances including techno, metal, dub, pop and electronica, often all within the same set.

A rolling collection of fellow artists also complimented the band’s sounds with live instrumentation, including James Fogarty from Ewigkeit playing live bass, and James Glass on harmonica. Special guest vocalists included Liz Green from Swarf, Amon Zero from Arkam Asylum, Eva Katharina from Das Fenster, and not forgetting the band’s very own stage dancers, The Freudettes.
